Thats the way Intel describes its new platformdesigned to put Windows Vista based Tablet PCs into the hands of doctors and nurses. Among the partners is Motion Computing which has unveiled a model called the C5. Intels director of health care IT marketing Charles Goodwin says some of the features are pretty unique For example, the product is disinfectable. You can clean it and sterilize it to prevent infections spreading within the hospital. It doesnt have any ports, it doesnt have a keyboard. Its also very lightweight. It weighs under three pounds. It has a handle so that its convenient to be carried. It has wireless networking integrated in so that you can access the clinical information system, the patients medical records at the bedside, where the information is needed by the nurses and the doctors. It also has integrated in functionality to support the workflow, such as a barcode reader or an RFID reader for use in identifying patients as well as in meds administration. It has an integrated camera so that you can document wounds or document range of motion for patients and also store those into the medical records as well.
